Do you ever wonder how our brains can process such an incredibly rich visual world? Is it possible that perception operates according to a probabilistic framework? What is the role of prior expectations in perception? Such questions drive my research.

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at New York University’s Department of Psychology and Center for Neural Science, where I work with Prof. Mike Landy and Prof. Eero Simoncelli. I received my Ph.D. in 2007 from the UC Berkeley Vision Science Program where I was advised by Prof. Marty Banks. Prior to that I did research in computer vision, computer graphics, information visualization and user interface design with Prof. Vicki Interrante and at the (former) Nissan Cambridge Research Lab.

My current research interests include Bayesian inference and probabilistic modeling of the brain, visual perception, multi-sensory integration, cue combination, natural-scene statistics, psychophysics, learning and adaptation, digital displays and interfaces.

My Current research approaches include psychophysics, computational modeling and  neuronal population coding.
